Jolly Roger Contest 3 ½ - The Race for Blue’s Treasure

The story:
Captain Blue has been captured! Oh no! But before she was placed in isolation, (isolation because she’s a feisty one who keeps beating up her guards and cell mates) she entrusted a map to a nice little bit of her treasure to her crew, you and all the other Forbidden Cove mates being that crew.


Can you be the first to the treasure? You know Blue's Booty is always worth the attempt to win. (see below for said booty)


The Contest:
This contest has both similarities and differences to a regular JRC. Yes, it has categories, three to be exact. Yes, it has prizes, nice ones as I am told. No, it does not have a master builder. No, it doesn’t have all the fancy programming and coding that the other JRC’s have.


The Rules:
1) Build 1 or 2 entries per category


2) No 3rd party parts or clone parts please. But an exception will be made for string and sails.


3) No size restrictions


4) No building restrictions


5) Pictures, let’s keep this simple. Make a folder or a set of your build. Use as many pictures as you think you need, but please don’t overkill the judges. There are no size restrictions. If you are going to use Brickshelf, please be aware of the issues with the photos. At the end of the contest, your photos MUST be public and visible. There will be no extra time allowed for that. Please make sure your pictures are in full color for judging purposes.


6) No stickers or other such ways of customizing, etc. This is a building contest, not a customizing one.


7) Post your entry to the appropriate thread for the category.


8 ) Do not post commentary in the entry threads.


9) Prizes: If you win, it is your responsibility to know all laws about shipping to you. We will NOT pay for taxes or tariffs or VAT. The prize will be marked “gift” on customs forms. We will pay for shipping to you, but you will have to be responsible for any extra expense if you didn’t inform us on how to ship to you.


10) All builds must be new. This means if you already have it built, no you can’t use it. No you can’t modify another build. New is new.


The Categories:


The Treasure Map:
Build your treasure map. In any form you wish it to be. Be it three dimensional, be it a mosaic, be it whatever. There will be no clarification for this category. You need to be creative for this one.

Set 6264 Forbidden Cove with instructions and a poster of the set

Your Ship:
Now that you have your treasure map, you have to have a ship to race to the treasure. So build it. Yes you may use non LEGO string and sails if you must.


The prize:
8 classic soldier figs...yes you are seeing both the admiral and governor complete with their plumes

The Battle:
You have reached the treasure but you and your crew aren’t the only ones. Pick another crew be it pirates, soldiers, or natives to battle for your treasure. Make sure you have treasure visible. Because this is a battle, you need to show your figs in action. This isn’t a line up and I’m going to shoot you category.


The prize:
5 classic palm trees...yes those are taller than normal trees
